i’m an urban planner / houser / community developer based in madison, wi.

my work focuses on housing, public investment, and the systems that shape how communities grow into, well, communities.

i’m especially curious about who those systems work for - and what it takes to make them more equitable, more functional, and more human.

in my day to day, i spend a lot of time in the mechanics of the most foundational aspect of people’s lives (housing) - whether it’s how projects get funded, who they serve, how decisions get made, how partnerships are built, and how policies translate (or don’t) into real life impacts. i’m usually working somewhere between strategy and implementation, trying to pin down where small decisions can have outsized impacts.

outside of work, i spend a lot of time reading. and biking. and practicing yoga. and trying to figure out things that i don’t understand.

currently president of the American Planning Association - Wisconsin Chapter.
